Solstice deals with the landscape’s perception and the implicit nature of every representation
While the physical space which surrounds us is sometimes transformed by our artifices, the movie investigates the nature of the image, and the way it is processed.
Rays of light create an optical aberration, a temporary opacification modifying the perception in order to reverse the vision.
A movement of camera reveals then the machinery and the fabrication of the decor, a kind of special effect used in the reality and which alters the nature of the place. La vidéo Solstice a pour objet la perception du paysage et le caractère implicite de toute représentation.
Les images filmées sont traitées dans une logique d’appropriation comme si elles préexistaient sous forme de rémanences.
Des rayons lumineux créent une aberration optique, une opacification temporaire modifiant la perception jusqu’à atteindre un point de renversement de la vision. Un mouvement de caméra dévoile alors la machinerie et la fabrication du leurre, une sorte d’effet spécial utilisé dans la réalité et qui altère la nature du lieu.
